What is Cordyceps Extract?
Cordyceps militaris is best known for cordycepin (3'-deoxyadenosine) and adenosine, alongside polysaccharides. Its energy, endurance and vitality positioning comes from these nucleosides - a different signature compound from the beta-glucan focus of Lion's Mane or Reishi.
Cultivated Cordyceps militaris
The commercial standard is cultivated Cordyceps militaris (or Paecilomyces hepiali culture), not wild-harvested Cordyceps sinensis, which is protected and unsustainable. Cultivation gives a consistent cordycepin supply.
Extraction and nucleoside assay
Solid-state cultivation is followed by hot-water or ethanol extraction. We standardize polysaccharides to 30% (phenol-sulfuric method) and cordycepin to 1% by HPLC; adenosine is reported alongside it.
Energy and endurance applications
Cordyceps fits energy, endurance and vitality supplements and functional foods, often blended with other adaptogens. The cordycepin-adenosine pair is the claim driver, so assay matters.
Quality and testing
We test cordycepin and adenosine by HPLC, polysaccharides, heavy metals, microbiology and pesticide residues. A COA should show the nucleoside profile, not just total polysaccharide.
RFQ checklist
Confirm cordycepin percentage, adenosine content, polysaccharide level, pack size and a cultivated-source declaration. Those points separate a real militaris extract from a diluted blend.
